Tinnitus

Time to Silence the Ringing

The goal of TMS for tinnitus is to reduce the perception or severity of tinnitus symptoms. Research suggests that TMS may help alleviate tinnitus by disrupting abnormal neural activity associated with the condition. TMS treatment protocols vary but typically involve multiple sessions over a period of weeks. Results from clinical studies on TMS for tinnitus have been mixed, with some individuals experiencing significant improvement while others do not. TMS for tinnitus is considered an investigational therapy and is not yet widely available as a standard treatment option.

Treatment Available for Tinnitus

Florida BrainLink Initiative offers TMS treatment of tinnitus for patients that have undergone a full workup by an Ear, Nose, and Throat physician specialist (ENT). Candidates begin the process of being enrolled in our TMS program after they undergo a specialized MRI of the brain. This allows a specific target in the brain to optimize the outcome of the protocol. Patients will typically undergo daily sessions of TMS treatment for a total of 10 days using a specific regimen that has been shown to be effective in reducing the symptoms of tinnitus in multiple clinical studies.
